Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers were one of the founder members of the Football League, formed in 1875 by former public school old boys to challenge the southern football teams. 1878 saw them play in the first ever floodlit match and by 1886 they had won the FA Cup on three successive occasions, a feat which hasn't been matched since. Until the advent of the Premiership, all of Blackburn's success had taken place before 1930 with two League Championships and six FA Cup.

Blackburn are currently one of only four clubs to have won the Premier League, along with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. The club's Latin motto is "Arte et labore", the club's translation of which is "By Skill & Hard Work". On 26 October 2010 the Indian company V H Group said they were on the verge of acquiring the club. On 19 November 2010, the takeover was completed under the name of Venky's London Limited for £23 million.
